Rules
Portugal has no single filming licence: which licences you need depends on the type of filming and the location, and several can apply at once, for example city councils for public spaces, aviation regulators for drones and Infraestruturas de Portugal for major roads. Fees may apply depending on the entity and licence, and the applicant is told the fee in reply to the filming request. Filming in protected areas such as natural parks always needs prior permission from ICNF, and filming at state museums, palaces and national monuments needs authorisation from Museus e Monumentos de Portugal or Património Cultural. The Portugal Film Commission helps by putting applicants in touch with the authorities that grant the permits.
