Every foreign production needs a Thailand Film Office permit, applied for through a local coordinator registered with the office (Department of Tourism).

Rules

Foreign filmmakers need a shooting permit from the Thailand Film Office under the Film Act B.E. 2551 (2008), applied for through a local coordinator registered with the Office. Work permits are requested on the same application form. Separate permits are needed for national parks and historical sites.

There is no permit fee, service charge or cash bond, but the filmmaker pays a Monitoring Officer a per diem of 2,000 baht per day per person.
