Can you fly a drone to film or photograph in Japan?
Drones of 100 g or more are registered with MLIT through DIPS 2.0 (online fee from 900 yen), must show the registration ID and must carry Remote ID; drones pre-registered before 20 June 2022 are exempt from Remote ID until renewed. Flying 150 m or more above ground, over densely inhabited districts, near airports, at night or beyond sight needs advance MLIT permission.
