Can you fly a drone to film or photograph in the United Kingdom?
Since 1 January 2026, a Flyer ID (free online test) is needed for drones of 100 g or more. An Operator ID is also needed for drones of 100 g or more with a camera, or 250 g or more without one.

New drone models sold in the UK from 1 January 2026 must carry a UK class mark (UK0 to UK6). Remote ID is required on UK1, UK2 and UK3 class drones from 1 January 2026, and from 1 January 2028 on UK0 camera drones of 100 g or more, model aircraft, and older or home-built camera drones of 100 g or more.
