Can you fly a drone to film or photograph in Canada?
Drones of 250 g or more are registered with Transport Canada and marked with the registration number. Pilots need a Basic certificate (online exam) to fly small drones away from people, or an Advanced certificate (online exam plus flight review) to fly closer to or over people, fly medium drones (over 25 kg up to 150 kg) or fly in controlled airspace with air traffic control permission.
